One More Tree-Cycling Event is Coming Up!

One More Tree-Cycling Event is Coming Up!

Very wintry weather made conditions less than optimal for community Christmas Tree Recycling events on Sunday. Roads were so icy in the morning that Chestnut Hill's event had to be cancelled. We chipped over 150 trees in East Mt. Airy, but we know lots of people weren't able to get there.

If you wanted to participate but couldn't because of weather/driving conditions, please don't trash that beautiful tree! Bring it to Awbury Arboretum on Saturday, January 11th, from 11:00 till 2:00, and it will be chipped into mulch that will enhance a public or community garden!

The entrance to Awbury Arboretum is on the east side of Chew Avenue, just south of Washington Lane, (near the SEPTA RR bridge). There will be signs to direct you to the drop-off site on the grounds.

All ornaments should be removed from your tree. No early drop-offs, please! We are requesting a $5 donation per tree, to help cover expenses & to support sustainability programs at both East Mt. Airy Neighbors & Awbury Arboretum.

We look forward to seeing you, & would appreciate your efforts to spread the word, & to help us keep trees out of landfills!
