Welcome to the new Chestnut Hill Green Space. Green in Chestnut Hill, aka GRINCH, is a new group interested in furthering sustainable practices in the beautiful Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia. We are hoping that this will become a forum for all things green happening in our area and also, to join forces, share information and promote our efforts.
Nice. Love the calender. I will consider that for our blog.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to explore getting recling containers, to go beside the trash recepticles, along Germantown Avenue. I am always carrying around plastic bottles to bring home as there is nowhere to place them to be recycled as I walk around shopping in Chestnut Hill. I have seen trash containers accompanied by recycling containers in other communities (notably along the boardwalk in Ocean City N.J.) and I think this is something that our community should provide as well.
Yes!! We are looking into this. We will be investigating the cost and look of appropriate sized bins and then raise funds to buy them.
ReplyDeleteWe will keep you posted on this blog!
To anonymous--where have you been exploring and what have you learned about these recycling containers?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Bob Previdi last year, when he was phasing out as the community manager. He said that he would try to help. He told me a name of someone in the City to call, but it may have been the same person whose # you listed in your article in last week's Local. I would be happy to help you with this project. Can you post an email where I can send you my contact info?
