(in the parking lot behind the bank)

The Weavers Way Environment Committee is sponsoring this collection.  We'll take  take your computers, TVs, keyboards, cell phones, etc. — anything with a plug!  Materials collected will be responsibly recycled by eForce Compliance, a metro Philadelphia electronic recycling company that adheres to strict recycling regulations.
We will suggest a voluntary donation of $10 to $20.  There will be a required charge of $15 for TVs and monitors (CRTs), which goes to eForce to cover their costs.  Donations received will benefit the Weavers Way Environment Committee's grants program, which provides financial assistance to help community groups establish gardens, beautify our neighborhoods, and educate residents about environmental issues.

One More Tree-Cycling Event is Coming Up!

One More Tree-Cycling Event is Coming Up!

Very wintry weather made conditions less than optimal for community Christmas Tree Recycling events on Sunday. Roads were so icy in the morning that Chestnut Hill's event had to be cancelled. We chipped over 150 trees in East Mt. Airy, but we know lots of people weren't able to get there.

If you wanted to participate but couldn't because of weather/driving conditions, please don't trash that beautiful tree! Bring it to Awbury Arboretum on Saturday, January 11th, from 11:00 till 2:00, and it will be chipped into mulch that will enhance a public or community garden!

The entrance to Awbury Arboretum is on the east side of Chew Avenue, just south of Washington Lane, (near the SEPTA RR bridge). There will be signs to direct you to the drop-off site on the grounds.

All ornaments should be removed from your tree. No early drop-offs, please! We are requesting a $5 donation per tree, to help cover expenses & to support sustainability programs at both East Mt. Airy Neighbors & Awbury Arboretum.

We look forward to seeing you, & would appreciate your efforts to spread the word, & to help us keep trees out of landfills!
