FreeCycle Super Success!

We will post plenty of pictures of Eco Alley and the FreeCycle at today's Garden Fest in Chestnut Hill but I wanted to waste no time in thanking everyone!
Thank you to all of the citizens who donated books, dvd's and cd's. We estimate 1,500-2,000 pieces were brought to Valley Green Bank over the past 3 days-- WOW!
Thank you to Valley Green Bank for allowing their Chestnut Hill branch to be a FreeCycle drop off point for 3 days!! (and Nick for helping haul them onto Eco Alley)
Thank you to all of the excited festival goes who rummaged through boxes and boxes of FREE books and left with nearly everything!
Our first foray into FreeCycling proved such a huge success we plan to do a "full on" FreeCycle event very soon, independent of festivals.
Keep checking back for details!

Eco Alley at the Garden Fest this Sunday May 6th from 11am-5pm!

Eco Alley returns for its 3rd year at the Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival Sunday May 6th from 11am-5pm. In addition to the hottest small businesses around like Philadelphia Salvage, Stable Tables and EcoQuette, there will be live music and kiddie yoga! Yoga instructor Deirdre Kilkenny of Nature Yoga will be leading a yoga session for 5-8 year olds at 12:00--it's FREE and first come, first served! Local musicians Urban Drawl led by Jason Fifield will be jammin' out the New Grass tunes. The little ones especially love their knee slappin' music.
And NEW this year: A FreeCycle event. See info on the post below.

FreeCycle on Eco Alley at the Garden Fest!!

Free-Cycling Event!!
New this year on Eco Alley at the CH Garden Festival
Sunday, May 6th, 11a-5p
A Free-cycle event is like a yard sale where everything is free. The idea is to give away what you no longer want or need; it’s the "reuse" part of "reduce, reuse, recycle" taken to the next level! It’s about giving and receiving.
Green in Chestnut Hill will be hosting our first Free-cycle on Eco Alley this year. Local contributions of Books, CD's and DVD's (only those three types of items, please) may be dropped off in advance of the event at the Chestnut Hill branch of Valley Green Bank on Thursday or Friday, May 3rd or 4th, between 8am and 6pm or Saturday, May 5th between 9am and 1pm. Valley Green Bank is located at 23 W. Highland Avenue in Chestnut Hill.
We hope you will stop by the Free-Cycle tent on Eco Alley on May 6th and help yourself to some treasure! For more information, please contact: chefamybeth@gmail.com
